New telematics agreement hits the road

A revised Vehicle Telematics Hardware and Software Solutions agreement has been made available to public sector organisations by the Crown Commercial Service (CCS).

The previous telematics agreement expired on 23 April 2024. The new agreement [RM6143] will be in place until 4 March 2026 and will help public sector organisations use telematics for the digital management of vehicle fleets. The CCS said the new agreement was similar in scope and scale but has introduced some modifications to make the agreement easier to use.

These include a single lot structure that groups products and services, this will simplify procurement processes, the CCS says. Other modifications include a new simpler order form, specific solutions for heavy vehicles, waste management and street scene vehicles, winter maintenance, as well as terms for organisations that operate covert operations and blue light vehicles.

“We’re delighted to launch our newest vehicle telematics agreement, offering ad simple and efficient route to market that gives public sector customers access to sustainable, safety-conscious solutions that enable value through fleet optimisation,” said Tammy Carter, head of fleet at CCS.

CCS described the agreement as “an important component” of the fleet solutions it offers, allowing public sector bodies to analyse the use of their vehicle fleets and make evidence based decisions on fleet management.

Public sector organisations use telematics to manage the efficiency and risks of their fleets.
