Bradford upgrades wireless bandwidth

Bradford City Council has boosted the wireless bandwidth for its network of security cameras and traffic management devices with the installation of palm sized EH-600 mmW radios from Siklu.  The palm sized radios are designed for use at street level and provide long term gigabit capacity.

The system was installed by solution integrator Net View Systems, and provides the wireless connectivity for more than 300 surveillance cameras and two dozen traffic management devices.

“With the ever increasing capacity requirements associated with providing wireless connectivity we required a high capacity alternative outside of the congested 5GHz band. Siklu has been rock solid,” said Marc Hancock, managing director of Net View Systems.

BT launches social care case recording

BT smartnumbers has launched an advanced voice recording, storage and analytics solution for social services providers. Named the smartnumber critical case recording service, it can capture and securely store face-to-face meetings, providing an accurate record without paper based administration.

Workers log in to the dedicated app on their smartphone or tablet, enter the service user’s reference details and record the meeting. The date, time and location are captured automatically, and the recordings are encrypted on the device then archived in the BT smartnumbers vault, a secure cloud storage service. At this point the record is automatically delated from the device.

Social workers and managers have access to the case recordings through the smartnumbers compliance console, which enables keywords or phrases to be flagged for further review. All access to the console is logged and recordings cannot be altered or deleted.
