Webcast: 11:00, 30th June 2017

Join us online on Friday morning for our expert panel debate exploring the impact of GDPR and the Digital Economy Act on public sector organisations and the significance of new data protection legislation announced in the Queen's Speech.

There are concerns among senior public officials over the prospect of the two laws - the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Digital Economy Act (DEA) – pulling data sharing in different directions.

In our Live debate on 30th June, publisher Helen Olsen Bedford will lead our expert panel in a  discussion of what this means for public authorities.
On the panel:

  • Imogen Heywood, Engagement Lead, Centre of Excellence for Information Sharing
  • Victoria Cetinkaya, Senior Policy Officer, Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO)
  • David Tidey, CIO of Wandsworth & Richmond and chair of London CIO council
  • Chris Doutney, Managing Director, Civica Digital

The panel will explore how both pieces of legislation will work together, the impact they will have on public service delivery transformation and the handling of citizen data.

UKAuthority is inviting readers to take part in this webcast, during which there will be the opportunity to submit questions and to vote in interactive polls.

In addition, Civica Digital is running a practical webcast on 12th July covering the technical detail required to ensure organisations are up to speed and compliant. For more information, including registration, click here.
