Television and radio broadcaster and CEO for TeenTech CiC Maggie Philbin OBE talks about her work inspiring the next generation to develop digital skills, and its initiative enabling students to design their City of Tomorrow

Supported by Microsoft, TeenTech is challenging young people to think about the future city. Students are helped to see that the jobs of the future are for everyone by being encouraged to develop small tech projects.

These go alongside physical building designs, such as the future school or health centre, to help bring technology and the digital world to life. They also have to consider the global challenges of sustainability - so every idea and building has to be smarter, kinder and safer.

Primary and secondary schools across the UK are taking part and councils are running regional projects. Philbin outlines some of the ideas, the enthusiasm of the youngsters and teachers for the scheme as well as the opportunities it provides.
