Derbyshire County Council has completed the migration of its SAP enterprise resource planning system from the ECC version to S/4HANA.
It has also moved the ERP from on-premise to the Azure Cloud.
The council’s director of digital, Leonard Tantari, said on LinkedIn that this marks a milestone in its digital transformation.
“This upgrade not only enhances our ERP environment's safety, security, and compliance but also unlocks new functionalities that will empower us to serve our community even better,” he said.
“It's a crucial step forward in ensuring that our systems are future proof, robust, and aligned with our strategic goals.”
Digital priorities
Tantari has also posted on Derbyshire’s recently formed digital services team and its priorities in the area. They include engaging with residents, businesses and partners to co-design and improve services, developing a digitally enabled workforce, cultivating a digital culture in the organisation and maximising the use of corporate data for insights while using it safely.
“Our vision for digital services is ambitious: we aim to transform into a digital transformation partner for the wider organisation, thereby supporting the successful implementation of our digital strategy,” he said.
“This vision will drive us to adopt modern digital approaches, leverage our corporate data more effectively, and reduce our technology debt to improve both efficiency and the end-user experience.”
