LocalGov Digital and the Local Government Association (LGA) have set up an AI Practioners Group for the sector.

They said it will sit alongside the LGA’s AI Network for peer learning, and focus on practical experimentation and application of AI in local government.

Phil Rumens of LocalGov Digital – an organisation for digital practitioners in the sector – said the first meeting will take place online on 24 June, and that meets will include show and tells, discussions and workshops.

He said: “Whether you’re just curious about how other councils are using AI, or have already started on your organisation’s journey into using it, this is the group to find out what others are doing, how they’re doing it, and share your approach too.”
