NHS England has signed two major contracts to support the digital transformation of urgent and emergency care (UEC) – with a total value of £86 million.
It has reached an agreement with Kainos Software for support in the transformation activities of digital UEC team, set to run for three years and with a value of between £28.1 million and £37.4 million.
The contract award notice says it will initially focus on the delivery areas of NHS Pathways, the directory of service and UEC data, but can also span into other areas.
The second contract is with Accenture for support of continuous iteration activities in the digital urgent and emergency portfolio, all coming under the digital UEC umbrella.
It is also set to run for three years and has a value of between £36.9 million and £49.3 million.
The digital EUC portfolio comprises a number of workstreams, including NHS Pathways triage software, real time information through the directory on which services and clinicians are available, digital referrals and consultations, data insights and interoperability standards.
