Sunderland deploys new care support software

Sunderland Care and Support (SCAS) has deployed a new software to support reablement, planned care and telecare services across the city.

It has rolled out the Totalmobile Platform in collaboration with the supplier of the same name and Boldyn Networks that runs Sunderland’s public Wi-Fi network.

Totalmobile said the move will increase the operational capacity of SCAS, a trading company owned by Sunderland City Council that provides social and healthcare services.

The solution includes care package management, dynamic scheduling, support for mobile working and lone worker protection.

When the service receives a new referral, capacity management automatically identifies the capacity to deliver the package of care. Care visits are automatically and dynamically scheduled to provide continuity of care for service users and enable the service to maximise capacity with smart scheduling, skill matching and routing.

Care workers receive plans for their visits on a mobile application, along with all key supporting information, and dynamic scheduling reacts to any changes during the working day, such as sickness and visits running late, and can reschedule care visits to other workers as appropriate.

In addition, a worker protection function is enabled and users can request emergency service assistance if required.
