APIs for the public good

Wednesday 17 July

Time: 11:00 - 12:00 via Teams Town Hall

How do we unlock the full value today of APIs across the health and public sector?

UKAuthority’s white paper APIs for the public good, researched and published in January 2019 in partnership with Cognizant, was groundbreaking in its exploration of the importance of Application Programming Interfaces in underpinning the next generation of public services.

Whilst APIs are universally seen today as key to consistent and secure integration, data sharing, innovation and the redesign of services, some of the recommendations and findings from that report have still to come to fruition. The question we are exploring now is, Why? And, how do we unlock the full value of APIs for the public good today?

We are running a quick survey (if you have not already added your thoughts and experience to this research project please do so here now) and a series of qualitative discussions – the interim findings from which will be discussed by our expert panel ahead of publication of a new paper in September.

Join us live on 17th July – put your questions to the panel (below) and add your feedback to the conversation!
